Xen Virtualization
Virtualization technologies allow to host an operating system
inside another operating system (potentially different) without the need to have
many physical machines. This configuration has the immediate advantage to
aggregate services available on different machines, taking advantage of the host
machine power and minimizing maintenance costs (electric power, occupied space,
air conditioning, security, etc). Moreover a virtual machine can be migrated
very easily from a server to another, limiting the time needed to maintain the
hardware and allowing more complex ways to handle backup.
Building a virtualization system has become very important for
every company. But a modern company is managed using different server platforms.
Grouping them under a single virtualization technology is too important to be
entrusted to just one company. It's for this that the
entire field, including chip producers, server suppliers and operating system
developer companies are investing on Xen open source project.
Xen natively supports the new hardware-assisted virtualization
technology, either on Intel processors or AMD's. This feature allows to
virtualize many operating systems, from Linux to Windows, from Solaris to
FreeBSD. Moreover Xen assure full compatibility with the new virtualization
technology included on Microsoft Windows 2008.
Xen is ready for the most part of company applications. codbit
staff is ready to implement it for your applications and on your companies.
